Happiness is…#3

Getting a glimpse of Mt. Apo!

Photobucket

Actually the one in view is not the summit. But with my three days in Davao to be able to witness it, I was not lucky enough to see the highest peak.  This photo was taken while we visited the Mt. Apo Highland Resort (Hillside).

I wish I had all the time to sit on the bench and watch the clouds engulf the peaks at the same time be mesmerized by the cool fresh air!  So free from air pollution.

Food Tasting & Sight Seeing in Davao

I traveled to Davao Thursday evening to attend the Davao Food Appreciation Tour 2012. I was one of the more than twenty participants coming from places all over the Philippines.

This is me during the visit to Tribu K Mindanawan Cultural Village located at the Davao Crocodile Park Complex.  We went there to watch the fire dance.  If it was not yet too late, we could have gone around the whole village and see all what is there to see.  But have another appointment to catch, so we just took a group pic on this spot and then left for Lachi’s.

More of this and DFAT 2012 related photos and news bit will be posted in my travel blog.

I arrived back home Tuesday morning and right away, in .less than an hour, I was already at work.  Time flies so fast.

Travel makes me forget time but work reminds me that I should be mindful of my time.

Thanks to Charles for taking this photo.

Goodbye Blue Skies

I was so overwhelmed with blue skies for the past days.  We arrived in Bohol Thursday morning and right away I fell in love with its clean blue skies.  The blue green deep waters are so inviting that even for someone who is scared of the deep longs to jump in the water and swim.

But today, I say bye to the blue skies because we are heading back to Iligan City – the original home.  I have made several adopted homes around the world but there is no sweeter home than the real home.

I guess everyone feels that way, too.

Music and Speeding Down the Coastal Road

I though we would not go to the mainland today.  But we did because we are going to pick a package at the LBC office.  After the pick-up we will go swimming at the other side of the island.

Since yesterday, i love the cruisin down the coastal road with the smooth upbeat music to liven the atmosphere.  The temperature is so high that it can drowse us to sleep.  Thanks to the music – a collection of English, Filpino, and German love songs.  What I love with the German songs is that – the tune is very familiar and so sweet yet I do not understand a word.

Auntie Babie’s car speaker is so good that it feels like I am inside a home theater.  I bet her speaker is similar to the kustom brands being on sale online this time. I am going to ask her tomorrow.

This is one of the places we passed by yesterday. How I wish we could stop so that I can go up the church to take more photos. =)

One Fine Sabbath Morning

PhotobucketIt was one fine Sabbath morning and I find myself with the Gen Ed family in one of the homes in Dumingag. This was my first trip to Dumingag and particularly in the campus of Western Mindanao Academy. Our school was invited to present a program that Sabbath morning. It was also part of the promotion of the school.

We traveled going there Friday after lunch and we arrived late in the afternoon. It was quite sometime of a travel. Luckily I was seated in the front seat with Ma’am Lai or else I will not feel so comfy if I was seated at the back. The one who drived us going there was Kuya Nonoy. Sigh. Missing Kuya now. Wherever you are now Kuya, we always miss you.

PhotobucketA stolen shot of me while waiting for everyone so we can leave for the church services.

It’s early morning over at my end and I just finished going through some old photos and am reminded of the day when these pics was taken. It was one fine day. The sun shone so brightly that morning. It was so humid. Good thing it rained in the afternoon and made our trip back a bit pleasant.

R & R @ Lake Apo

Today is not one of my lazy day but I am wishing am out somewhere doing and R & R at Lake Apo in Bukidnon.  I’ve been there once and I when I left I promised that I have to go back once more if not many times.

The place, Dr. Almer called it “The Timeless Place” is an idyllic place to for relaxation.  Far from the noise of city life.  Life can be peaceful because it’s not anytime that your phone will beep for an incoming message or will ring for an incoming call. If your mind is really set to be free from city hustle and bustle at least for the weekend, you will be able to leave the place refreshed and rejuvinated.

PhotobucketOne of the views you can enjoy there.

The view there was really breathtaking that if the rest house have if they have they have one of those Adirondack rocking chair at AdirondackChairs.com, then you would enjoy the view in a more relaxing way. They do have reclining wooden seats that adds up to the elegant country living, but I wish they also have the rocking chairs.

Motion Caught

It’s been awhile since I enjoyed clicking the shutter of a camera.  Asked me why, because my camera (CANON IXUS 120is) died a premature death last December.  I haven’t had it checked but I can guess there’s a big damage so I never mind about it.  Someone asked me if he can check it, so tomorrow if I will not forget to carry the camera then Sir Q will check it up.

This post will not be about the broken camera.  But this is about some of the photos I took during an overnight retreat at Midway Beach Resort at INitao, Misamis Oriental. It’s there that particular Sunday I experienced my first banana boat ride.  The photos are not of the banana boat ride but of motion caught.

They are not perfect shots I know but with Esther’s point and shoot camera (Canon) I so like the result.   I am still saving up for a studier camera and I hope I can buy one first week  of April.

Thanks to my friend Esther for allowing me to use her camera as much as I can that day. ^^

Thanks also to the presidents of the IT and BSBA club of Mindanao Sanitarium and Hospital College  for inviting me as one of the chaperons in that activity.
