A Day at Naomi’s Botanical Garden

Our Weekend Memoirs

As i mentioned last week, i had a quiet weekend and same this week, too. Since i have time to post so I am making this post my entry to OWM. I would like to share with you a few photos i took while visiting Naomi’s Botanical Garden in Ozamis City.

It was sort of an official trip so i really did not work full-time on taking pictures but i can say that the place is so great for a weekend getaway. We were there for the last night of the wake of Pastor LT Nermal and to attend his burial the next day.

I did not sleep the whole night. Not even a minute of closing my eyes because i vowed to my friend that we will never sleep. But she did at around 4 am. hehehe…Anyways, i slept on our way back to Iligan city. :

Pink snow?

I saw this while checking what’s outside our hotel room, while waiting for my companion retouching. We had almost an hour to freshen up but instead of taking a short sleep, i watched TV. imagine! I feel like am still 16 years old. lol! I should have rested. Anyways, i got interested by a pink patch of the ground. I thought to myself – pink snow? Well, it’s a pollen from this tree:

I am really wondering what’s the name of the tree.

Quick trip to Cagayan de Oro City

Sunday afternoon, after the recognition program, i went to Cagayan de Oro to pick our commencement speaker.  Then after the graduation program, i also had the chance to send home the speaker.  It feels a bit refreshing to see different places in one day.  Sunday, i guess i was so tired i failed to take photos, but on Monday afternoon, on our way back, i just can’t stop clicking my camera.  So let me share some of these photos.

This can be used for TWThW, too.

TWTh – Divisoria View & This Way at CU

This Way Thurs-Way

I was on an official trip to Cagayan de Oro the other week and i had breakfast at Mc Donalds Divisoria. After eating my breakfast, i then too the time to enjoy the view. Actually while eating i was already enjoying the view but took time to click my camera after eating already.

After breakfast i went to Liceo de Cagayan University and then to Capitol University. I took so many roads and signage shots but id like to share this signage from Capitol University.

I enjoyed walking around (after my official transaction of course!) in the big campus of the two universities i visited that day. I think it was a nice way to be slimquick in a natural way. I just walked and walked at same time enjoying the view and clicking my camera. I wish my camera lens can capture all the things that made my eyes spark with excitement. :)

Sky Watch Friday # 50

One year ago tomorrow, me and some General Education faculty went off to Camiguin Island, around 4 hours travel from my hometown.  It was a very sunny day or it’s one of the typical summer sunny day.  So my sky photos here today will be of that trip.

After more than 3 hours travel, we arrived at Balinguan, Misamis Oriental where we would take the ferry to the main island.

On board the barge going to the island, i took the chance to shoot the sky of the mainland we were leaving behind:

We arrived the SDA church in Catarman in the afternoon.   Be We did not go out anymore because we prepared for the Sabbath.  We attend the vespers Friday evening then Saturday attended the church services because it was just a few steps away from our accommodation.  Afternoon it rained but fortunately after the AY program the rain stopped so we decided to go to the Walkway.  Several of our companions reached the end station but for me and other ladies, we walked just until the cemented pathway and then started to go down.  ON the way down, i tried to take some sky photos–

After that walkway, we had dinner and after dinner we went to the Ardent Spring. Sunday came and i have so many sky photos but will just share with you one of the skies — let’s say, it’s my favorite or one of my top three favorites:

Middle photo – one of the sky photos i took while already at the white island.

Third photo – a sky photo above the Mt. Hibok Hibok.  Still taken from the white island.

These are all for now.  I hope everyone will enjoy the week-end.  We will have a long week-end over here because we don’t work on May 1 – Labor Day.

New Places I’ve Seen & Passed By

The trip last week-end brought me to pass by new Philippines places and also stepped and stayed more than  a day in Dapitan City and Dipolog City.  Both places are situated in Zamboanga del Norte.

The furthest i went from Ozamis is Clarin.  So this time, i have gone by more than clarin and these places are the following:

Tudela

Panaon

Alloran

Oroquieta City

Lopez Jaena

Plaridel

Dipolog City – Linabo Peak
(at the foot of the peak only)
Valdia Gardens

Dapitan City -
Boulevard
Dakak
Rizal Shrine

After almost 5 hours travel by van, we arrived at this spot:

at the Valdia Gardens:

at the foot of Linabo Peak:

From the Peak we went off to Dapitan to see the Shrine and take rest for the night. This is the only modern building inside. It houses memorablias of Dr. Jose Rizal.

Photobucket

At the side of the above building is his statue. I think am an inch or 2 inches taller than him.

In the evening we were given a short time to go around the entertainment area. There were also botiques around.

Photobucket

This is not really a park but id like to call i ta mini Rizal Park :) because it was in this area Dr. Jose Rizal made a map of Mindanao used to teach his students geography.

Photobucket

Then from that park we went off to — PARADISE! :-) Truly a paradise because the road is not nice. The road going to Dakak is through the mountains. Long and narrow and there are areas that are also steep. But since they are constructing the road (road widening) for improvement, there were big boulders along the way and it was so mighty dusty.

Some of these are just teaser photos. Will make an individual post of particular place for travel information purposes.
