Open House 2010

Last August 16, the dormitories (boys and girls) were opened to the public for more than 6 hours.   It is during times like this that the creativity of the students will be seen especially when time is limited.  I will be sharing here the photos i took of the rooms in the girls dormitory.  Will share the pics of the boy’s rooms in later week.

So let me start — here’s of ROOM 1.  Their theme is balloon festival.

ROOM 2 –

I think they are theme less.  The flowers they cut that evening was not used the next day.

They just play with colors on their ceiling.

They’re Cousins

Our Weekend Memoirs

Familiarizing with each other?  If they will not meet each other in the next ten years, they will never ever remember each other and know that they are related to each other. ;-)

Actually they are my cousins once removed  except for baby Gab.  The one in yellow and the crying boy are staying far from here and am really sure i will not know them when they grow up.  The beautiful girl in orange – she knew my name and we talked at times on the phone as i sometimes call her mom.  But even then, if we won’t see each other in the coming years she will not know me when she grows up and same with me.  The last time i saw her was when she was still a baby. =)

OWM – Me & A Stolen Shot

Our Weekend Memoirs

though your heart is breaking!

Oh well, last weekend was one time so sad for me for being at a beach without a camera.    I don’t mean to sound like i’ve been carrying a camera when i was born, but having the feeling of emptiness after losing a very important part of you is really heartbreaking at times.  You spend sometime recollecting those moments when you lost that thing.

Friday morning at exactly 7:30, School administrators, teachers, and office staff left for Naawan Beach Resort for the activities of the day – Integration of Faith and Learning Lecture.  We started exactly 9 and ended at exactly 5 pm.   When one of my friends arrived whom i requested to carry a camera, i dashed right away to the beach.  Unfortunately, it acted bad that i failed to take  pictures of the sea and the sky.  Good thing, one of the teachers was carrying her camera and so we took some group and solo photos.

Here’s one she took of me:

Then she asked me to take a photo of herself and Ate Joy!  I then had the chance to steal this  moment:

The weekend was very refreshing.  The messages were so enlightening and inspiring.  Even though i lost my camera that week, I still had a great weekend!

Weekend of Goodbyes

Our Weekend Memoirs

Id like to think that it is was a very lonely weekend because everyone was leaving.  How i wish i too would pack my bags and go away. hahaahaha.  Seriously i would do so if it is just ok.

Of the 47 ladies, there were only around 10 girls Friday evening. Thursday afternoon, my dorm partner left for a short fun vacation to Bohol. A dear friend left for Bicol early Friday morning. And i was left in a place where i can feel so much emptiness. Yet, the handful of girls and I went to church for vespers and the Saturday. I just missed the Saturday afternoon program because we came in late from our lunch rendezvous at the seaside.

Here are a few weekend photos to share:

a sky photo i took while going up to the dorm through the side door.
when i don’t feel inside, i look up the sky to hope for a positive vibes.

This was taken around past 5 and i was waiting for the sunset.  I enjoy the sky view from the fourth floor and i think last weekend is my last weekend to enjoy sky level view.  We are moving down to the old dorm this week and there will never be any sky view anymore.  :(   Anyways, i did some ironing while waiting for the sun.  And after sometime — i can already see red streaks of sun rays trying to penetrate my pink/lavender curtain.  So i have to run outside the dorm lobby with my camera.

I clicked so many and this one is one of my favorites.  Taken at 5:54 pm.

I was really missing someone when i took those sunset shots.  I was even wondering if he was seeing the sky view i was enjoying that moment.  So i sent him an sms asking – if are we seeing the same sky because if so then for sure the world is just so small because we are seeing the same orange sky.  He replied that he is not seeing an orange sky because sunset is being blocked by a hill.  >> I think if there was no hill for sure the view would be very beautiful because that friend was out in the Lipata pier in Surigao.  They were off to the other side of the island at 7 that evening.

Saturday lunch, i was invited to go along with my boss and friends to have lunch at Hagohoy.

I was still making this post earlier when the power was interrupted.  Now i want to get online from my lappy but it’s not connecting.  I really dunno what’s the problem.  So the few more pics i wanted to share is there.  I can use a usb but this office pc is pregnant with virus and I am afraid that my lappy will be infected if i will transfer files by using the usb.

So am publishing this post now and i hope that tomorrow i can add some more photos.  If not tomorrow, the next day or if not the next day, will post it on Sunday at the main blog.

OWM – Overnight at the Hospital

Friday was quiet day at the office but i look forward to it because it’s the day i planned to have a pedi.  I left the office earlier than usual at lunch time so that i can be able to catch up with Belen (my suki pedicurista).  And of course i did!  I arrived back at the office before 1:30 and i was shaking hungry. lol!

I took a shot of this blue building while waiting for my pedi service:

Anyways, i decided to sleep early that evening but then i was awaken by a knock at past 11 because my sister called.  I should get down as quickly as i can to the Emergency Room.  I thought oh my what’s up with our Baby Gab but when i reached there, it was not Baby but it was my father with an oxygen on.  It was not my sister who was there but my brother and sis-in-law.  They said my father got a mild heart attack.

Oh well, so i stayed the whole night there (lack sleep) until noontime the next day.  He was on bed arrest.  He was comfy using the urinal in his bed but he got no choice.   The night was uneventful but i was a groggy watcher when Saturday morning came.  I missed church and even missed my breakfast and lunch because that morning he was not yet allowed to eat.  I gave him some water after his blood was taken for lab test.

The doctor came around past 12 and she told me that my father have no heart problem.  Instead she saw a different problem.  So i was relieved of the thought that i don’t have to watch him every minute of the next 24 hours.  So, i decided to make the trip to CDO to bond with some friends.  I even met someone whom i haven’t seen since i graduated from college in 1994.  She almost fail to recognize me because i have doubled or almost tripled my college size – but looking at me closely she giggled and said…ohhh my sister! =)  Thanks for the chocolate spread, Jo!  I wish i have taken a photo of us.  I just really forgot about it.  Maybe next time, I will text you and let’s hang around.

I had a great evening and this is what we had for dinner:

My friend called this picadello.  I am not familiar of the recipe but it tastes sooo good that i almost forgot my diet! =)

OWM – Feeling Tired & Mushy

Our Weekend Memoirs

I looked forward to a different Sunday today. But it did not turn out as planned so i spent long hours in front of this pc doing nothing – oh i did farming (harvesting and planting). I also did not make a single post. I have many things to say but my brain wont work on what words to use. In other words i was blank. Am so glad i made the move to go back to the dorm to rest (i thought of taking a nap but eventually did not). I did rest (reading with music, my chinese fave songs in the background)..then almost 2 hrs later i was out in the room to appreciate the sky.

I’ll just share one of the few shots i made of the late afternoon sky:

I just took a photo of me.  Do i look tired to smile real?  Oh i should smile for the camera. :)

Even i feel this way, all in all it is still an unforgetable weekend. :)

A Day at Naomi’s Botanical Garden

Our Weekend Memoirs

As i mentioned last week, i had a quiet weekend and same this week, too. Since i have time to post so I am making this post my entry to OWM. I would like to share with you a few photos i took while visiting Naomi’s Botanical Garden in Ozamis City.

It was sort of an official trip so i really did not work full-time on taking pictures but i can say that the place is so great for a weekend getaway. We were there for the last night of the wake of Pastor LT Nermal and to attend his burial the next day.

P4070369

I did not sleep the whole night. Not even a minute of closing my eyes because i vowed to my friend that we will never sleep. But she did at around 4 am. hehehe…Anyways, i slept on our way back to Iligan city. :

Pink snow?

P4080389

I saw this while checking what’s outside our hotel room, while waiting for my companion retouching. We had almost an hour to freshen up but instead of taking a short sleep, i watched TV. imagine! I feel like am still 16 years old. lol! I should have rested. Anyways, i got interested by a pink patch of the ground. I thought to myself – pink snow? Well, it’s a pollen from this tree:

OWM – A Quiet Weekend

Our Weekend Memoirs

I had a quiet weekend at home that made me almost forget that i had a few photo shots made yesterday morning when the kids were getting ready for church. I just can’t imagine was lazy the whole time that i only took fashion poses of my nephew. They can’t be shared really because my brother will kill me but let me share one so that you will better understand what i am meaning to say. :)

P4030209

A very masunurin na bata! I asked him to pull out from the locker Dimple’s dress for church and the next thing i asked him is to try putting it on and have a pose for me. We were all laughing and giggling. i can see he is enjoying every minute of it. (pls never mind the messy background.)

Here’s also a Friday morning pics taken on our way home from the dormitory.  This was way past 12 noon and the sun is still so hot. ~~
