2017 Wrap-Up

I would like to wrap-up my 2017 in few photos and few words (1545 exactly). lols!

January

The new months started alright.  Work was alright and pressure was within limits.  Though I can remember the late nights booking for the AMCI Managers & Admin Korea trip scheduled for June 2017.

February

The 65th anniversary of the hospital had its kick-off this month.   All the weekends from this month April was packed with activities attended by all workers – young and old!

This was the venue of the kick-off. Our guests of the afternoon was the President of the SPUC, Elder Edwin C. Gulfan and our beloved Iligan City Mayor, Honorable Celso Regencia.

I cannot forget this colorful decoration.  After the kick-off, group presentations were held at the back lawn of the Annex Building.

Blessing the new hospital vehicle, a Montero, was also done this month.

The first wedding I attended for this year also happened on a February.  Rey & Swyt’s wedding in Butuan City.

Rey & Swyt were married at Tamarind Church in Butuan City.

March

The month of March was SHINE – Sharing Hope, Health and Happiness to Neighborhoods Everywhere  Future Leaders Bootcamp held Saddle Ridge Camp, Dahilayan, Bukidnon.  If my memory serves me right, the training was attended by the 3rd and 4th batch of future leaders.

April

One major thing that happened during this month was the gala night.  The culmination of the 65th Anniversary celebration.
18194239_10155126250081718_4390399431635050407_n

The gala was held at Frosty Bites Garden Hall. It was a night where the workers came to attend looking so dashing and elegant in their evening wear.

May

The highlight for this month was my official trip to Manila.  My first errand was for our Hemo water analysis at East Avenue Medical Center – NLRC.   It is during this kind of trip that whoever goest to NLRC for the water analysis, he or she carries an icebox that make you look like you are selling some iced water or ice candy. lols!

My 2nd & 3rd day in Manila was spent submitting korean visa application at the Korean Embassy in Taguig.   I applied for more than sixty persons.  I scheduled it for a day only, but time ran out for me, so I had to come back the next day for the remaining applications.

The embassy as seen from across the street as I was waiting for a taxi to bring me to BGC where I would take a BGC bus that will drop me at the last stop (Telus building) and then it would be an easy walk down Ayala avenue.

The visa releasing schedule was after 3 days and after 5 days that was why I stayed in Manila for more than a week.  After the release of visa for the the first batch of applications, I had a Korean food treat. lols! It was a late lunch because visa releasing starts at 1:30 in the afternoon.

The happy look after checking all passports of the first batch got the Korean visa.  Hindi halata na gutom. lols!

I know that the weekend would be a drag as I do not have any errand to do. So I woke up early Saturday morning and caught a bus for Baguio City.  Geared with an overnight bag, a dslr , a phone, and selfie stick, I was so happy to begin my adventure.

19149367_10155275539726718_1449146103715046255_n

Together with the stuff mentioned above is a “thick face” to approach other tourists to take a photo of me. lols! I had lots of photos taken, 90% selfie lols! and the rest were kindly requested. (More details of this Baguio trip will be lar lar in my Travel Tails 2017 post.)

May was also a month to remember for AMCians because it was this month that the President Rodrigo Duterte visited the wounded soldiers as a result of the war in Marawi.

June

After the visa released, June came so fast.  Laag makes the days fly by so quickly.  As in super dali jud then the day came when the Korea Benchmarking time has to begin.  The groups left the Philippines via Mactan International Airport and Ninoy Aquino International Airport.  The day were the same but the flight time are different.  I joined the group that left Philippines (via Cebu) the last but kind of the big group.

Touchdown at Incheon Airport, South Korea.

A group stayed for 4 days, the most 5 days, and a few 6 days.  We were not accommodated in one flight due to the fluctuation of prices during the booking period.

Here’s us, Sabbath afternoon, a quick sight-seeing at Sahmyook University.

July

One thing I cannot forget this month was — I turned 45!

20245904_10155417024451718_2017625745566781252_n

Then Robinsons opened to the public, feeling fortunate to witness the event. I also had the chance to see Daniel M up close 😀

And it was this month, my phone was stolen.  It got stolen while taking a jeepney ride from Robinson’s Place (opening event) to the center of the city.

Eat Iligan (2nd year), organized by Iligan Bloggers Society, Inc, also took place this month.

August | September

These months were filled with holidays that later on we feel bored not going to work. lols! But one thing made the September exciting was we made a weekend trip of the Red Team (Mt. Kanchenjunga) to Alindahaw Lakewood Resort.

It was a refreshing getaway in spite of the long distance travel. It would have been more fun if all the team members went with the trip.

The second wedding event I attended this year was of Lai and Josiah. Held at Mahogany Gardens. It was a nice and intimate wedding ceremony with family and few close friends.

October

My October started with a 5-days Writing seminar at SPUC.

24129817_10155768114796718_5694065098672907826_n

It was then followed by the 2nd batch of in-campus SHINE Future Leaders Training.

3 days of the end week of the month was spent on a quick trip to Zamboanguita, Negros Occ because one of our fellow worker (Uncle Bebe Candelario Davad) died.  We spent the last night vigil there as well we attended the Burial services.

Another thing to note during this month was the wedding of  DOTS stars!   But at the of the month, the events reminded me of the movie A Wedding and a Funeral, because on October 30, a good Korean actor, Kim Joo Hyuk died at the age of 45 due to a vehicular accident.

November

November at work was kind of busy. Busy planning for the year-end program as well as in the preparation for the TUV-SUD audit.

December

This month was full of excitement for the hospital workers.  The Lord gave bountiful blessings to AMCI this year thus the Administration decided to surprise the workers with more financial blessings this year compared to the previous years. Thus, our year-end celebration’s theme is #SalamatAMCI2017. We owe all our blessings to the Lord so all our praises and thanks to Him.

The door prizes thrilled everyone.  The longing of winning the grand prizes glued our butt to our seats until the end of the program.

December 17 was an important date for Meloy and Rex because it was their wedding day. I was chosen as one of the Peer Sponsors on their wedding day (the 3rd wedding i attended this year).
The wedding was held at AMCC campus church and the reception was held at Frosty Bites Garden Hall. The crowd was a mix of AMCI friends and MVC friends.

Confessions:

Personally, 2017 was a struggle. I am so thankful I survived!  There are 3 days more to go before 2017 totally says goodbye, but I am positive that this year shall pass and I will still be standing with an “okey” look.  Thank you Lord for every new day that has come to me.  It gave me hope to live for the next day.

I became so crazy with Korean dramas this year(sounds bad) but in a a way it helped me in dealing the (sad) monster inside me because the movies helped me make a good laugh as well as gave me a good reason to cry.  At some point, I become an irresponsible fan (happy about break-ups and irresponsible comments) but when a celebrity dies, I came to realize that for them to live happy, I have to accept whatever choices they make.

I cried for Kim Joo Hyuk’s death much more for the death of Kim Jonghyun.

Kim Woo Bin’s illness made me really sad for him and his career that from time to time I check YT for updates.  I look forward to his come back.

Lovelife for real is still zero.  Don’t wonder why.  Somehow I wish 2018 will be a kinder one for me when it comes to love found not love lost. lols!

———————————————— ^&^

So this is 2017 in the personal and work life of Sunshinelene.

I wish everyone of you a prosperous and happy new year 2018!

Pink Fridays : 1/212 – Stage Decor

 photo pinkfridays_zpsjstvtsp8.jpg

Welcome back Pink Fridays!

I cannot remember anymore when was the last time I joined this Friday meme. The last post can no longer be traced since I already lost several blogs. I now have only two blogs standing, and not updated for more than a year.  But I hope this meme will inspire me to post a few times a week.

Here is my entry–

 photo 7e899c5d-49ae-43b2-8059-ab32b6f34c0d_zpsbilxr4h7.jpg

This photo was taken a month ago, using my mobile phone, during the kick-off program of the 65th anniversary celebration. It is a mix of warm colors but the pink really stood out in the crowd of colors. 🙂  Kudos and pat in the back to the staffs of the ICU for beautifying the stage with sweet and lovely colors.

I tried searching for Pink Fridays post in this blog and result is negative.  So I am making this post as my first official entry to Pink Fridays.

Keep Your Feet Firmly on the Ground

So true!

Some people fails to appreciate where they come from when they have reached their ambitions in life. Some even make it worst by being so light-headed when they have gained some small victories on their way to bigger victories. I just think that God will not be happy when we feel so proud of our achievements. Failing to realized the source of all goodness in this life. So, may this quote reminds us to be always humble in whatever status we are in this life’s journey.

The Purpose of Our Lives…

 photo unnamed4.jpg

The purpose of our lives is to be happy.

I fully agree.

Just come to think of it the purpose of our life is not happiness? It would be real sad. Right? But in the real situation, many of the people are hopeless in having a happy life.  I do not have all the understanding why some people are deprived of the happy life that they should have because to each his or her own.  Right?  Life is what we make it.  So whatever we do, whatever we say, we should be mindful because everything we do, there’s always a result.

A Quick Stroll at the City Hall Grounds

One Saturday afternoon, I joined my IBS family in going around the town to take photos of government offices for Google mapping.  I cannot forget that day because of what I wore to the “event” lol! I should have been informed that the attire is casual because we will still go out to take pictures. I was thinking we will spent our time at the Chamber’s office to map 😀 Hindi pala. Mag picture lang so…hmmm…I looked funny!

Anyway, from Saray, we took a jeepney to the city hall.  I had several photos taken but let me just share a few.

The famous Anahaw Theater. This place is often use for presentations especially during city fiesta. I’ve never been down there. This was still my second time to really come this close.
 photo 20140222_163912.jpg

Still of the Anahaw Theater (the half part)
 photo 20140222_163920.jpg

“Welcome to Iligan City” It is my first time to see this marker. I never knew this exist. I then asked them, why is this place here? When it feels like it is in the suok (corner) They said that on the way up to the city hall, this side can be seen from the road.

 photo 20140222_164509.jpg

I still have to try though if makita ba talaga.

Next is the way to the Tourism Office. I can say Kamingaw sa payag. The place is close because it is a weekend.
 photo 20140222_165232.jpg

See that signage to Youth Affairs office? I commented on why it’s there and why in a paper or cardboard? They said, it’s a temporary daw.  Then they commented that this particular office is often transferred from one place to another.   Oh well, I hope the place they are in now will be permanent so they gonna have a permanent signage, too.

The playground. We saw a playground right across the tourism office. I bet this is a favorite spot for kids when they stroll in the area. Not just kids actually but for young couplers. Oh my on the couplers or young people dating.

The place is really conducive for dating and if unsupervised lots of things can happen there. No guards roam the area so it is really free zone for those who want a bit privacy in a public place.
 photo 20140222_165943.jpg

I cannot say that the whole place (City Hall) is awesome for tourist but at least it can be a haven for family strolls.

So if you are in the area during weekend, take some time to stroll the whole area. If you do briskwalk, it’s a bit enough to make you sweat.

Life is Short!

Here’s a beautiful reminder for all of now today. I grab this from my friend’s wall in Facebook. They are wonderful and strong yet gentle reminder for all of us that we should be always happy no matter what because life is really short to be sad and angry or discouraged.
photo 998748_10200273075094807_890351113_n.jpgi love the following lines more:

– Do what you love often

– Travel often

– Stop over analyzing, LIFE IS SIMPLE

Lunch By the Beach | Midway White Beach Resort

Two Saturdays ago, I tag along with my friends and a new friend as we head to Midway Beach Resort.  Our visitor hails from Davao City and he is on a journey exploring the wonderful places of the Philippines and thankfully he included Iligan City during his trip.  I think Iligan was the last before he traveled back home to Davao.

 photo Photo0215.jpg

The weather was perfect but it was too hot in spite of the we were by the beach side. The water looks so tempting but no one dared to swim because the sun feels like it wants to eat the whole of you when you are out there. They have a swimming pool, but it was a bit crowded. When it’s a small pool, I don’t like joining the crowd because we do not have an idea on how many times the pool is cleaned or if the water is flowing or not. They have the adult pool as well as the kiddie pool so hopefully they have stuff like goldline salt cell for their use.  It is really important to use the right things and materials in maintaining the quality of pools.

We just tried to enjoy the view around us while we waited our food to be delivered.    Here’s a couple of the food we ordered:

 photo Photo0210.jpg
— just some of the foods: chicken adobo & friend ketong–

There was also the pansit and the calamares. We had green mangoes, sinegwelas, mixed nuts, and chips (junk foods). Jam, Alex, Glen, me, and later Richard feasted on these simple foods. We were so full but still no one was tempted to swim. We looked forward to be in a place where the wind is cool and we will indulge in a very very cold softdrinks or soda, so we decided to leave.

Before we left, we had few shots. We asked someone to click the camera for us. I still haven’t seen any group pic we did but I hope later, they will share.

Since I still don’t have a copy of a group pic, let me share my selfie one: hahaha

 photo Photo0217-1.jpg

That’s me!

And we left. We directly went to Echavez to grab a cold softdrinks and we also enjoyed their cool place. After a short while, we head off to the forest through a motorela.
