Ola Zamboanga! We’re Here Now!

Bienvenidos!

After twelve hours bus ride, we arrived here in Zamboanga City, hungry and worn.  But more hungry that after checking in our things at Hotel Preciosa we decided to go out right away to eat.  Our things checked in first because they cancelled our reservation made online.  Good thing there was a standard room available with a bed that can accommodate two persons.

We dunno were to dine but tried to go back the road our trike pass through in going to the Hotel.  We saw common fastfoods like Jollibee, Chowking and Mc Donalds yet we decided to eat something local.  The trike driver told us about Puericulture place but we were not so sure about the place and the kind of food, so we dined here:

Looks cozy and festive!

This soup warmed our cold stomachs.  Dimple and i felt so hungry because we have not eaten rice since breakfast.
We just had bread, biscuits, and some other sweets.  :)

Our companions, Bingky and Pat of City Government of Iligan went back ahead because Bing was not feeling perfectly alright.  Theythought of resting ahead to be ready of the 5 am trip tomorrow- a Mine tour at Canatuan, Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte. Oh! We are here by the way for the Mindanao Bloggers Summit (4th) which will officially begin tomorrow.

This is all for now — lemme’ say goodnight!   Dimple will get online now.  I really don’t care because all i have is a very bad headache and i wanna sleep.

Quick visit to the hilltop

I was suppose to leave very early yesterday morning but instead of waking up at 3:30 i woke up at 5:15.  So i was sure that i can’t catch up the church service anymore.  I was just in there to some friends and of course to pick something from a friend.  I arrived on time when the speaker started and oh my he spoke for almost 2 hours that the 12:30 date with friends at the under the pines was doubtful.  So i went out to see Ate Sardale to inquire of the activity.

Some pics i took while traveling up to MVC on a motorbike.  :)

Anyway, i went to see Paul at the under the pines at past 1 and we talk a bit.  There were also some friends there and before the rain started we decided to move to the Jubilee Park.  I was glad because in spite of the short time i will have the chance to take photos there.

I think it was good to be at the Jubilee Park when it was not so crowded with visitors.  But one thing i observed, it’s not so Jubilee Park anymore as it was in my time or even before my time – i long for the great view of the plains beyond and the endless sky.  For now, that’s the case anymore.  It’s more like this:

oct 23 mvc trip 4 500

I left MVC with Ma’am Apple and company at a bit past 5 and was on my way to CDO at 6:00.  Before the clock strikes 12, i was already inside the office dorm.  I jump with glee because i can imagine i would turn into a zombie if ever the clock strikes 12 and i was still outside walking towards the dorm. lol!

Though the time was limited, i had a great time meeting for a short while some friends.  Hopefully in the soon future, i can go back there and have a weekend stay at Jabby’s room. :)

Manila Trip – Day 3

The day was spent mostly traveling.  I left Olongapo City that morning.  It was a beautiful sunny morning compared to the day before.  I remember i wished that the Sunday’s weather was the weather that Saturday and we could have gone to the beach.  But anyway, there’s still more sunny days to come and hopefully can visit Mitch and Deye again in the future and go with Deye to the beach.

IMG_1161 500

Mitch sent me off at the bus station.  Actually, near the bus station (Victory Liner).  I took the van because i was still dropping off at SM – Pampanga to see my son.  I took a picture of this monument to serve as a landmark for me in the future.  I think it is indeed a landmark of the city.

After i settled my stuff inside the van, i went out of the van to take photos of what’s around me.  So that’s the monument and i also saw this colorful building -

An Inn

I think at the back of that is the bus station.   If I just knew that the bus also drops right at SM then i would have taken the bus, maybe a Genesis one.  :)

Not far from the the spot where the van is waiting for passengers is the yellow jeepney stop.  That jeepney goes to Sta. Rita where Mitch residence is.

Now i hope all of the above will help me in my future travel back to Olongapo if given the chance.  And hopeful too that future travels will bring me beyond Olongapo.  I can remember ten years ago, we went swimming in Iba, Zambales and i guess that was the furthest part of Luzon that i’ve been to.  Somehow Kuro eyeballs will bring me to Pangasinan and more more beyond.

I think the travel was to SM Pampanga took 2 hours and it was a very sunny day.  I tried taking photos of the sceneries but the van’s glass is not very clear.  There were many interesting places that we passed by.  It would have been a great photo shoot opportunity when passing that way in a private car so that anytime you can ask the driver to stop because you’ll take photos.

Anyway,  after a few minutes i was into the building, i got a text and it was from the father and son tandem.  I replied texted them my location and in a few minutes they were there.  I was so happy to see my son.

Here’s one of my fave photo of Jaizon that day.

IMG_1230 :)

I told him, “gayahin mo” (imitate him) but that’s all he did but smiled. I feel he thinks i was crazy. lol!  But he was such a sweet boy for doing my request.  After this shot, we were off to that Fuji center to develop some of the photos i took to be left with them.

At almost 3 i really have to say bye.  The sent me off at the bus stop outside the building.  I took a Genesis bus.  Once it was off, I dozed off and was awaken at Caloocan already.

Blooper I

I didn’t know where SM North EDSA is. But i have already told the bus conductor and driver am dropping off at that bus stop.  They forgot about me.  The bus conductor was not the “shouting” type guy.  So we passed by SM North EDSA.  Maybe the guy was curious why i kept looking at him straight to his eye. He just smiled and i asked him, “malapit naba SM North?”  And he replied, ay! dapat bumaba ka dun (the stop where we just left).  I did not panick but keep on smiling. lol!  So i told him, hey, i really dunno where to stop.  I need to go to SM North.  He instructed me to get off at the next bus stop, cross the highway through the overpass and took a bus back to SM North.

The overpass experience is also unforgetable. It shakes when there are big busses passing by below. Oh my i just walked slow and pretended i was just feeling ok. lol!  I was not okey.  I was scared the wind will blow me off from the middle of the overpass. hahaha

To make the long story short, i arrived at SM and it was full of people.  I can’t hardly move comfortably.  I have to find a non crowded place to settle myself and text my cousin of where i was and what to do next.  I went up to the 2nd floor and i saw one place that was not crowded.  Settled my stuff in one of the chairs and i made an order.  While waiting for the order to arrive, i texted my cousin.

He did not come to pick me up.  Instead he sms me that i should take a van that will go to SM Fairview and i have to get off at Puregold North Fairview.  They are there across that mall, waiting for me.  So i went.  I did not doze off to sleep.

Blooper 2

I was watchful of the places and the buildings we were passing.  I must see a Puregold that they described.  Then the guy beside me said, heto na, Puregold North.  I saw the word North and got off right away.  When i looked at the signage again, i read “PUREGOLD NORTH COMMONWEALTH. “  I was scared for a moment and was mad at the driver for letting me off.  I then texted my cousin am at the wrong place.  I told him i am lost!  He said i can now take a jeepney and get off at Camaro. Oh haii i really dunno Camaro.  We arrived at the place midnight so i was not able to see some landmarks.  In the morning, i was in a hurry so i was not able to really check what landmarks i could use if in case i will just be alone in going home to their place.  He called and said, don’t take the jeep! I can see you now! I was so relieved. lol!  The thing was, i was at the right place but he gave me the wrong location of Puregold. :D   I was sorry for a moment for thinking bad at the driver.  It was my cousin’s fault. hehehee

We arrived at Rhoda’s place.  Had a time to relax and enjoy a bit of the sunset that can be seen from the window, did some online tasks and pack for the next day’s travel back to Mindanao.

It was showering a bit yet i saw a glimpse of sunshine.  :)

Manila Trip – Day 1

It’s been several years since the last time I was in Manila.  It was not even a Manila trip  because i was only passing through and i grab the chance of meeting some friends (eye ball with my kapatids in Kuro).  It was only a quick drop off before flying back to Mindanao.  And that was in 2007.

Last Friday (October 1) i had the chance to fly to Manila again.  As i’ve said in one of my posts this weekend, the trip was made possible because of Cebu Pacific cheap flights and also the Sheriff never ending outpouring of tasks.

– while on my way to boarding. i entered the rear entrance as my number was 17F–

I left Iligan seven in the morning and arrived the Cagayan de Oro airport an hour before the flight.  The weather was cloudy and gray in fact it was showering.  I was expecting for a bumpy flight.  Yes there was, but just so so.  We arrived on time per schedule so I moved slow as i was not meeting anyone except for my cousin who am going to stay with during the weekend.

IMG_0856

– first shot from above the ground.  taken right after we took off –

I left the NAIA 3 by bus.  No need for a taxi from the airport as i was not in a hurry.  I dropped off at Baclaran to go around a bit.  It was showering and the ground is wet but i managed to go around a few corners.  Good thing i have only one stroller bag aside from two big shoulder bags that contain my laptop and usual lady handbag.  Right there and then, in less than 30 minutes, i had my first purchase.  I purchased something for my daughter.

The rain started to get stronger so i have no choice but to take a taxi that will me to TM Kalaw.  It was one of Manila’s big avenue so it was  not hard to find because from where i was it will only go along Roxas Boulevard until we reached TM Kalaw.  My cousin’s office was a shipping company so i called it — it was a world of man!  So many men that i felt id drawn so i have to leave the office.  I just can’t kill time there until he finishes his office work.

I enjoyed taking pictures even while on the taxi.  Buti nalang di nag tanong si Manong bakit ko pinipikturan ang mga buildings at iba pa. :) (Good thing the driver didn’t asked me why i was taking pictures of buildings, statues, and etc.)

The Luneta park was just a few walks away but the thought of wet grounds and it was drizzling turned me off.  I decided to walk to Robinson’s Manila.  Another place in Ermita that also brings back good memories of 2007.   At 5 i went back to my cousin’s office because we were off to the Mall of Asia.

Mall of Asia from 7 pm until past 10 pm.  We were waiting for the cousin’s gf :)

At past 10 my feet was already screaming at me to rest!

Kapoy na talaga!

IMG_1089–at last she arrived!  Almost 10:30 –

We were on the bus at 11 pm and i guess we arrived Fairview (FCM) at  a bit past midnight . I didn’t sleep tight on the bus.  I was scared if i sleep deep and my cousins will forget that they had me on the trip.  We were on separate seats as we can’t fit into a 3 seater bench. :)

This post is already full of photos.  Forgive me.  I still want to share more but will post it in other blogs.  :)   You may check them in the following blogs:

^^^^^^___^^^^^^

The same place.

Different year.

The same person.

Different hair length

The same smile

and with the same idea in mind —

to have a photo in the midst of the pear flowers.

My last visit was in 2005.  Probably if i haven’t come back to the Philippines for sure the next years to come i will still visit the same place during the pear flower season.  The flowers will be in full bloom for just a week.  My first visit there was in 2003 and i wore a grey coat.  It looks so gloomy in the photo.  I made sure that during my next visit (2003 and onwards) i wore something with a lively color.  :)

See the green and orange? I just love it!

Open House 2010

Last August 16, the dormitories (boys and girls) were opened to the public for more than 6 hours.   It is during times like this that the creativity of the students will be seen especially when time is limited.  I will be sharing here the photos i took of the rooms in the girls dormitory.  Will share the pics of the boy’s rooms in later week.

So let me start — here’s of ROOM 1.  Their theme is balloon festival.

so you can find balloons anywhere in there room.

I think they are theme less.  The flowers they cut that evening was not used the next day.

They just play with colors on their ceiling.

They’re Cousins

Our Weekend Memoirs

167CANON resized

Familiarizing with each other?  If they will not meet each other in the next ten years, they will never ever remember each other and know that they are related to each other. ;-)

Actually they are my cousins once removed  except for baby Gab.  The one in yellow and the crying boy are staying far from here and am really sure i will not know them when they grow up.  The beautiful girl in orange – she knew my name and we talked at times on the phone as i sometimes call her mom.  But even then, if we won’t see each other in the coming years she will not know me when she grows up and same with me.  The last time i saw her was when she was still a baby. =)

Taken during a holiday weekend at Timoga Spring Pool.

SWF – Morning Glow

The sun was slowly creeping up the horizon but its ray already shone brightly in the hallways of the dorm. That’s what i saw when i woke up the girls at 5:40 this morning. The bold rays of the sun promises a very bright day and for sure it’s gonna be humid if one goes out.

The sun looks so small in this picture but its light is already an irritation to the joke-woke-up eyes. =)
