Today is the first day of school for my ten turning 11 little girl and seeing her prepare this morning also gives me excitement. I still can’t believe how time flies that my little girl is now a biggie girl and on the fifth grade.

- my girl’s latest picture taken last sunday (6/9/08)

I know this year is a financial challenge for me as well as it is for her but I know that we can make it. As we went out last Thursday to buy her school supplies, and a pair of black shoes and a cloth for an additional blue uniform – i really told her that she should use her supplies sparingly because it is not known when we could have money to buy supplies again. She went to school today in her new shoes and she prayed that it won’t rain later in the afternoon so that it won’t get wet. :)

Last week-end, i was away to Initao for a week-end retreat with the College admin, faculty and staff and guess what I did last Saturday? I took one of the best sunset shots in the world (hahahaha i just love my own). I say one of the best because thus far, since having a camera of my own, it is my first time to capture my nicest take so far. :)

Daughter of Joy

Little girls are the nicest things that happen to people…
A girl is Innocence playing in the mud,
Beauty standing on it’s head,
and Motherhood dragging a doll by the foot…

Hmmm wish lil’ girls will just be lil’ girls forever. :)

An Answer

I read more than twice today asking how’s me and my daughter lately. I feel it is a touching gesture for someone to ask me “how i’ve been doing lately and not just me but also my growing up daughter” — well, we are both doing fine. Summer is now and am glad that I still have my work to go to daily five times a week or else I would just end up at home relaxing but would feel guilty at the end of the day for being unproductive. :D So this is my answer –

Well, for now, my daughter is enjoying the summer fun of no class and she just spend her time watching tv (remember our tv was off for more than 2 months) if not on the streets with a bike. Honestly, I think it is very unproductive. My time long time ago with her age — I am mom’s assistant at home, or at my aunts place doing this and that and end up being paid at the end of the week or the day. I tried to encourage dimple what i’ve been doing during my childhood but she does not appreciate it and does not want to do it. Sad me. :(

Well, how is wish summer camps like the Circus Summer Camps of New York is here locally it would surely be a blessing. My friends daughter is still very young but she said, hopefully in three years time, she can bring Jayden to this camp as it is just located right at her place. Good for her. Dimple would just love to join Jayden. NY friends, i would love to see pictures of your experience in the circus camps this year.

Just My Crazyness!

Check this out:

Honestly, he (dimle’s dad) looks a lot like him (Joe Cheng) in many of his photos online. :D Joe Cheng is his real screen name and Zhi Shu is his name in the movie. Am using this picture purely just for fun. I realized that with this result, it means i similiarly look like him or even dimple is similar with him. right? As said, am not yet over with the “It started with Kiss” and from now on i will try to find the sequel. if it shown on big screen in the mainland last december then maybe for now it’s not yet in Philippine soil. Actually, the first movie was made in 2004. :D By the way, AN LIN is my Chinese Name in pinyin. (2nd tone/3rd tone) just like the way you pronounced ZHI SHU. hahahaha! omg! i am sure i can be a laughing object. to many young girls. but really i don’t mind. If ako lang masusunod, he is only for Xiang Qin and none other else.

FROGS

Dimple: Mom look at that!

Moi: (turning around) what?

Dimple: Dr. Frog!

Moi: (turned aroun again and try to find what she is talking about) I don’t see any frog.

Dimple: Dr. bla blah blah, FROG!

Moi: (laughing) that’s not frog! That’s FPOGS. It means a specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology. that’s why it reads: LYDIA R. TIM, MD, FPOGS, (and there’s more to it)

My girl’s eyes just focused on the group of letters whom she thought it was FROG at first. If am right, I think FPOGS means: Fellow in Philippine Obstetrics and Gynecologists Society.

No TV From Today

i just want to put into record that our TV has been put away. Dimple brought home her report card today and when I saw 88 there, I can’t breath. I was so hurt. I wanted to hit her but controlled myself but my mouth and volume of voice was not. I almost to cry but her cousins were around so I just talk and talk. I let her chose between two: stopping school beginning tomorrow and then I would not be worried if she won’t study her lessons anymore and she can watch tv as long as she want to. She can also play as long as she want. I am sure that I would feel better if she would really stop tomorrow. I told her that she can go back to school years later when she is already ready and responsible enough to really study and make good grades. And the other one is she still goes back to school tomorrow, be serious in her studies but as punishment, NO TV until the summer days. She chose the latter and she studied her english book until 9:30.

Her grades were discouraging. 2 important subjects gone down 5 points. The others 1 or 2 pts and the worst was that 88. I can’t accept those grades from someone like her. She has brains but she did not use it to the max and she does not have anything to do at home. My mom also was sad. She said she did everything for these girls (D and 2 other grandkids) by waking up early morning to cook for them and yet they are still late in school — coz dimple slept so late at night. She won’t sleep until Marimar is done. So now, goodbye Marimar! Goodbye all TV shows.

Maybe she didnt take me seriously of what i said previously. Incentives seems not to work well with her anymore. This is too much now so the TV has really to go away. Sorry to mom but she too understood.
Honestly, I want her to stop so she still can play as much as she want to. I know it would not be too bad. She is still very young. But she does not want to. She just want to be in school, study a abit, play a lot, ask from me allowances, school fees, projects. So the result: low grades.

Hmmm am I being too hard on her?

Hmmm i love this tag! Thanks to Mitch for tagging me with this. Too timely because i have experienced it today. hahahaha

If Louna and Deye are not into Princesses thing yet, mine already is. hahahaha! For this week alone, she has watched Princess Anastasia over and over again that I also have to ask her over and over again too if her teacher let her watched that for a homework. And she would just sheepishly smile at me with that pa cute cute look. And when I had enough I let her stop stop the movie. Last Friday they had no class so it was a NO TV day and NO getting online day for her. I was pissed off with Anastasia. Today she did it again! Really! Though I really don’t like her to watch it often over her studies, but I love to hear her sing the songs on the movie. She has memorized them too. When my mom heard her watching it today AGAIN! my mom got angry and she switched it to Moses. Moses the cartoons is her 2nd choice.

Now am passing the tag to Shern and Amos and Zac, and Hailey’s girls.

Mommy & D

Since the holiday vacation, I observed that Dimple is unconsciously building a mommy-daughter bond with me. When we go out, she walks beside me and hold on to my hand or arms just like the way I do with my mom when I was a kid. When I change attire to go out, she often asked where I am going and would ask too if she can come, and if she can, I would say, ok sure! come along.

Earlier this evening we went out for an errand and all we talked about while walking on the city streets is food. hahaha! She is gaining baby fats too which I don’t like so I hope I can curb her unhealthy appetite. I would never mind if she would eat several kilos of vegetables every meal as long as she will lessen her carbohydrates and fats.

My food intake was controlled when I was also 10 years old and I can remember that I really cried on the table because I still want to eat and they told me there’s no more rice on the kettle. But I realized it later, that mom was trying to diet me. But this girl of mine now, she hardly listens and I really hpe that next year when she feels a already mature for a magdadalaga na girl — she will realized she will control her cabs.

Well, yesterday, here’s some proof we’re having fun infront of the pc before my mood was changed into somewhat anger.

A couple more at my Photo Blog.
