Still Undecided

By , May 1, 2011 2:54 pm

Last week, while we were on vacation, my daughter’s Omi asked her what course she is going to pursue in College.  She still could not give an answer because she is still undecided.  For sure she does not like medical or allied courses.  She does not want to do anything with blood or anything related to clinical duties.

In my opinion, it is fine if she won’t take nursing.  But i was hoping she would take up Medical Technologist so that she will just study here in the College where I am working.  But sensing here, it seems that is not the course she would like to have.

I suggested one time that she takes up management course or maybe an accounting course and then take the CPA later.  As there are many management jobs available today. But still, she is undecided. She is interested of marine biology or marine engineering. She also mentioned of photography. Oh well, she is still young so we are not pressuring her to decide.

If given the chance to convince her, i will let her take Med Tech if not BSE or AB English, and then she’ll pursue a Masters in English and a Masters in Linguistics. Her Omi suggested she takes HRM. Oh well, she is still young, she can take up as many courses as she wants to take. But she should be sure about one thing — she can study as much as she can as long as she won’t get married yet.

I’m Just Around

By , January 8, 2011 8:16 am

I am suppose to be blogging as much as i can during this times (first week of January 2011) but I was am just too busy.  Not really busy like i need 10 hands but the worry of work and mom’s health is stressing me up.  We admitted her in the hospital January 2 evening and we discharged her just last night.  Quite several days and the first time since her attacked in 2006.  My mom is not yet really that old.  She’s only 68 but her heart ailment is the one that really moves her slow.  Goodbye good ole days for her already.  She has to accept to move slow and if possible no more heavy heart or any work that would stress her heart.

Will be on today and i am hoping to make updates on all blogs. :)   Update it with interesting stuff aside from tasks.

Happy weekend guys!

This is an old photo of my kids. I was the one who took this so am not in the picture. This was taken in summer of 2000 and i guess the only photo of the two of them.  Oh there were still so wee in this old photo and me? hmm i guess i was horribly big than i am now.  lol but it’s true!  I was bigger and ugly that time.

These two kids haven’t seen each other again since after that summer. Because of unfortunately events, i deprived myself of living with my son since that year and counting and went home to my daughter. It was not easy for me as a mom but i tried accepting the situation. My daughter though is mum about her feelings although there was a year that she wonders how her brother looks like until we got a photo of him in 2008. They have a few similar features but it was obvious am there mom. :)

In the next photo shows me with each of them them in two separate occasions. I wonder when would be the time the two of them could meet up again.

For now i just wonder because I still dunno when.  I am a bit sad for missing the latest Cebu Pacific promo fare of P10.00 then we could have made it to Manila on January next year.

I am just waiting for the promo then for sure these two shall meet.  :)

They’re Cousins

Our Weekend Memoirs

Familiarizing with each other?  If they will not meet each other in the next ten years, they will never ever remember each other and know that they are related to each other. ;-)

Actually they are my cousins once removed  except for baby Gab.  The one in yellow and the crying boy are staying far from here and am really sure i will not know them when they grow up.  The beautiful girl in orange – she knew my name and we talked at times on the phone as i sometimes call her mom.  But even then, if we won’t see each other in the coming years she will not know me when she grows up and same with me.  The last time i saw her was when she was still a baby. =)

Taken during a holiday weekend at Timoga Spring Pool.

It was mom’s 68th birthday yesterday.  This should have been posted in my http://sunshineleneforlife.com blog  but when i was about to do so last night, i had a hard time logging in and when logged it tells me to update – checking up the front page,  realized that i lost 7 months of posts.  For now, the problem is not yet settled though I am not sure the posts will be retrieved but am waiting word from my host and other power bloggers.  For time being, let me do my updates n this blog.

Mom’s birthday just simply celebrated like my sis and her baby with our family friend came by.  They brought some bread and ice cream.  I also arrived with some flowers and a slice of watermelon.  I didn’t pick any fancy food because i know that she had tooth extraction yesterday morning.

I am so happy she has reached another year in life – 68!  still alive and kicking.  Though not as strong as she was 30 years ago, but am sure glad she is happy and thankful to God that she is still alive and get to enjoy life with her grandchildren

Coming Home

By , February 13, 2010 9:15 pm

An aunt is coming home.  A coming home we all look forward to because she has not been home for 20 years although she country hopped Europe for all those years.  Something bad happened to here early last year that it looks like she is applying for disability appeal because of the pain she felt in her upper and lower back. I guess she was not complete cured after she fell off the high wall while working in her company’s grocery store. Poor aunt! Very hardworking and kind and she still experience this kind of pain. Anyway, we promised her a lot of relaxing days and daily massage for her to relax once she is home. Although some of us neices are really wondering if she could relax the first two weeks because there would be lots of family and relatives who would like to see her and say hello and maybe have a chit chat. But it’s a coming home we all look forward to!

Limonda, Opol, Misamis Oriental

I had the chance to make a quick travel to my mom’s hometown for some important transaction. It was a supposedly postponed trip to be done this week but we were informed that meeting between land owners, tribal officers as well as barangay council and the investors will have a meeting 11 am. So my aunt and I left home around 8 am last Thursday.

On our way up, as usual we rode the motorcycle. I took it much better compared to the first time. I think am getting used to it. It’s my third time trip up the mountains since April this year. The driver was not someone my aunt knows but he was recommended by a relative that he can drive well up and down very bad roads, worst roads compared to the road to our destination. So, it was only my aunt and I and no big loads compared to the 2nd time i went there when my butt has something to sit on which was really bothersome and painful after getting the motor.

It was a good trip up. He was a good driver too, i think. But he has more swerving styles which made me scared at times.

I call this place red lands but its name is actually Digkilaan. I dunno what’s the english meaning of that word but that’s the name of the place in the Higanunon tribe. Minutes before this location is a very bad part of the travel but around 10 minutes more travel from this area is our destination.

When we arrived at the place, there was a lady selling puto. It was 5 pesos per piece so my aunt and i had a piece and we also coached the driver to pick one.

See the puto, it looks yummy and that dog is the woman’s buddy. Such a very friendly guy but when i took this photo i was busy eating my share so i never tried to photo him facing me. the woman was excited when i tried to photo her dog.

One of the subjects i aimed to take photos at that time were kids. I said to myself that any kid that will come near me, i will take photos of them. And of all the few shots i made this is my favorite one. Their smiles are just so sweet. –

I was able to take photos of some flowers and also the horse i saw last time. I met him again and am saving the photo for sunday critters. And of course endless photos of the skies for sky watch friday and maybe some wordless wednesday entries. But let me share here a 2 more pieces. One is of the stream we trekked so that the investors can check the area then one of the sky pics.

In this photo, it seems like my aunt is so near me. Or it seems she is in level with me. Well, yeah we are in a way but to get to her location, i have to step 2 meters down (trackless bt just slide down the mud) and then go up around 4 meters so that i can reach her spot. I did reached her but the moment i arrived, they then start to go downstream. I ventured down because they said we will trek up or trek down the stream but they changed their minds so we have to go back the trail we made in coming over to this location. I was the first out to the road and guess what i saw gawking at me — a horse! I will show her on Sunday.

To go down the road to our piece of the land area, the beautiful sky is always an inspiration. To the left is a big bamboo tree and right beside that spot is where my grandpa is resting. :)

ON our way back later in the afternoon (early evening), we did not rode the motor down to the town but we hitched a ride in the businessman’s Hilux. I rode at the back for photo purposes though the sky was darkening. But later i have to get in because it rained.

Oh well, this is all for now and I think i will be visiting up there more often soon.

My aunt decided that we go swimming today. Not really swimming but go and see the Falls – Tinago Fall (Hidden Falls). Most of the company are kids and here they are:
