What’s The Bible To You?

By , January 24, 2009 3:03 am
Do you know the Bible? Do you have one? Do you read it? Is it part of your greatest posession in life? Oh well, i have one for now but throughout my life i had 4 and the 3 of them lost by borrowers. When i went to China, i did not carry one with me because i thought it would be a problem crossing the China border but nah, we did not have any problem. Fortunately, i was able to buy a new Bible out there. Then few months before i left China, someone gave me a very beautiful one (black cover with golden edges), but i gave it away to a South African guy working in Shan Xi Province. I gave it away because he said he does not have a Bible with him. The Bible i personally bought there is still with my stuff that is left in the care of my friend (my former boss).

Now let me share with you some personal views of the Bible by great men:

–>> George Washington, the 1st USA President
“It is impossible to rightly govern the world without the Bible.”

–>> John Adams, the 2nd USA President
“The Bible is the best book in th world. It contains more…than all the libraries I have seen.”

–>> Abraham Lincohn, the 16th USA President
“But for this Book we could now know right from wrong. I believe the Bible is the best gift God has ever given to man.”

–>> Wilson Woodrow, the 28th USA President
“The Bible is the one supreme revelation of the meaning of life.”

–>> Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th USA President
“No educated man can afford t obe ignorant of the Bible.

Attitude Equals Attitude

By , August 28, 2008 4:05 am

Being positive is not only important. It is crucial. It allows us to maintain equillibrium and regain control of our life. So everyone wants to reach a higher altitude, but how. some suggested the following tips on how to achieve high positivism:

1. WATCH YOUR WORDS. Get rid of unenthusiastic thought patterns and speech habits.

2. DO NOT WORRY SO MUCH. Unwarranted worrying can cause you to turn out to be bitterly negative and unwilling to work through things.

3. HOPE FOR THE BEST. Be geared up to correct things that go wrong, but not let fear of failure paralyze you.

4. FOCUS ON THE GOOD. Do not allow bad things to influence you.

5. STAY IN CONTROL. Use affirmations to amplify your self-esteem and postive vigor.

6. BE UPBEAT! Channel your energy to positive pursuits.

7. HELP OTHERS. Being a mentor enables you to pass along the positive lessons you’ve learned.

8. TAKE ONE DAY AT A TIME. Focus on the big picture and accept that the future will improve.

9. TRUST YOUR JUDGMENT. Appraise your options, make an executive decision and fasten to it.

10. HAVE FAITH IN GOD! It allows you to soar high and reach the higher altitude.

Dialing 4-6-3

By , August 20, 2008 6:53 am

Tonight I did not think that I Could make it on my own,
So I decided to make a call and then picked up the phone.
I looked at all the numbers, but my eyes would only see
So vivid in my mine was to call …4-6-3.

When you look at those numbers it is the that you will see
The letters that spell GOD are the numbers … 4-6-3.
It was then I knew without a doubt just whom i was going to call
It mattered not a bit to Him if my problems were large or small.

Looking over at the clock I saw it was quite late,
Would He really mind my call? Maybe i could wait.
Then I began to understand we could call Him anytime
There’s never a busy signal, and it does not cost a dime.

He’s always right there waiting with open arms for me.
The time matters not to Him, So, please call… 4-6-3.
He’ll talk to you,
He’ll talk to me,
He’ll pick us up,
He’ll set us free.

So when you find you need some comfort in your soul,
Don’t look elsewhere for it, Just call..there is no toll.
Put Him in your life right now don’t wait another day.
He’s waiting for that call right now all you have to do is PRAY.

I know I call Him often and He’s there to understand.
He’s always there when i say..
“Hello God, it’s me again.”

FIVE PENCIL POINTS

The pencil maker took the pencil aside, just before putting it into the box. “there are five things you need to know before I send you out into the world,” he said. “Always remeber these five things, and you’ll be a great pencil.

“One you are capable of many great things, but only if you allow yourself to be held in someone’s hand.

“Two: You will experienced a painful shrpening from time to time, but yu’ll need it to become a better pencil.

“Three: you have the ability to correct the mistakes you make.

“Four: The most important part of yu will always be what’s inside.

“And five: On every surface where you are used, regardless of its condition, you must leave your mark.

The pencil understand and promised to remember. :)

Good Friday Indeed!

By , March 21, 2008 12:18 pm

You may read my Good Friday thoughts here so I don’t have to rewrite them again in this blog. But I hpe that everyone is blessedly contemplating on Jesus’ death long time ago and we will be convinced that without His death we would be a subject to eternal death. So we can just imagine how much is God’s love for us –

The holiday is almost over. I mean the 3 day of supposedly no work has passed, but not for me. I spend most of my 3 days at work in my office. We are not yet done. If it is not Friday today, am sure by now, I won’t be blogging here. I would still be working. Thank God it’s Friday, I can rest from my labors but really I can’t help to look forward to sunset tomorrow so that i can go buy some stuff to be needed in the office for the work tomorrow night. Tomorrow night would be our last night to prepare everything that is needed for the inspection on Sunday after lunch.

I slept around 10 pm last night and because my phone died between 5am to 8am, the clock did not scream at me. Fortunately, one of the staff who wnated to go into the function room sent a prson to borrow my key. Thus i was able to get up at 8:30. hahahaha. I arrived in the office around 9:15 and had my phone charged. 2 important messages have arrived before my phone went dead:

1. One is that my mom did not go to Cagayan to visit his brother in the hospital but they spend the night last night in vigil because the brother died possibly before they arrived. I did not know that my uncle died. Well, it’s the best for him. Because of the alcohol, complications got hold of his body – so he died. He is now totally free from pain.

2. Another one is from son’s dad informing me that his mom died at 3 am today. She’s 87. I did not reply to this text and an hour later he called me up. I told him that we have death in our family too and if my place is just like Laguna from Apalit, Pampanga, then surely I would be there today. But no….am beyond the seas. He said, they understand. I wished then condolence. Am sure they all are blessed that nanay is now totally at rest.

Supposedly this day is to be spent in relaxation to meditate, but at the office, everyone is in a whirl to finish up the work. Now am back home, I get the time to contemplate and meditate that today is a special day for remembering God’s death that brought salvation to mankind, and the death of my relatives brought peace to themselves and to the family that’s left behind.

I wish every a blessed Good Friday and that we should not be sad as God did rise from the Dead and am positive that I will also see my relatives when the resurrection morning comes.

LEAVE IT ALL TO JESUS’ HAND

Do you wonder why the belssing
That you prayed for is delayed,
While others seems to get theirs
Before request is made?
It’s not for us to undersand,
But leave it all in Jesus hand.

Do you wonder why your loved one
Waas taken home to stay,
While other folks were left here
Who were only in the way?
It’s not for us to understand,
But leave it all in Jesus’ hand.

Do you wonder why you suffer pain,
While others are so healthy,
Or why you have to skimp and save,
While other folks are wealthy.
It’s not for us to understand,
But leave it all in Jesus’ hand.

Just lean upon the Savior
Just rest at His dear feet
His strength will prove sufficient.
For the testing you must meet.
It’s not for us to understand,
But leave it all in Jesus’ hand.

How Lucky Are We?

By , February 9, 2008 8:51 am

I received an sms yesterday from a friend reminding me how lucky I am in many ways. I wanna share that sms with you:

What is A Trashcan?

To a toddler: It’s just a shelf for his ugly toys;

To a student: It’s where he keeps his bad test papers;

To a teenager: A basketcase for the letters of an ex-lover;

To a writer: It’s a file for rejected drafts;

BUT to a streetchild: It’s a trashcan, so goes LIFE…

See how blessed YOU are?

I love that thought. Reminding us that we are more luckier in many ways than those who are less fortunate than us. That is why when Dimple and I were feasting on a big chunk of cold rice with soysause and vegetable oil and I mixed mine with fresh tomatoes yesterday afternoon— hmmmmm it was like real feast. We enjoyed so much and we were so full and satisfied that we did not eat dinner anymore during dinner time. Thansk to that sms, I have to whisper thanks to the Lord for providing us food on the table when some tummies out there are growling in hunger.

Today we ran out of grain rice supply, so i told mom to just make porridge out of those little grains left. Luckily were have a kilo of left over sticky rice, I let mom used a glass of it and mixed it also with monggo beans. When we gathered for lunch, the kids were so happy. One child said, hmmmm mom, you cooked such a delicious lugaw. :D Yeah it was, I am sure it was very nutritious although they spoil it sugar.

Beautiful Prayer!

By , February 8, 2008 10:44 am

This was posted in virtual by Charles and I wish that somehow more people prays this way.

“Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance.

We know Your Word says, ‘Woe to those who call evil good,’ but that is exactly what we have done.

We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.

We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare. We have killed our unborn and called it choice.

We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable. We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem.

We have abused power and called it politics. We have coveted our neighbor’s possessions and called it ambition.

We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression. We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.

Search us, Oh, God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free.

Amen!”

In my opinion we need more prayers like this. Not only to remind our leaders but also ourselves. This prayer has been prayed by Minister Joe Wright and you may read more of the history here. If those leaders were offended by this prayer, me myself, am not. Every word sounds true in most of our lives. And we truely need the holy spirit to guide us to live that Godly life.

May you have a spirit-filled week-end!
