I Got Mail!

After the morning worship, I came to the office to check my farms instead of going back to sleep.  I was on and off yesterday from my farms so i saw a lot of wasted crops this morning.  When i checked my mailbox, I got a mail from one of my chinese friends.  I greeted him Happy New Year in chinese pin yin but  only 99% right.  Hmm the spelling eh.  He also mentioned that this year is his brother’s so they wish him luck.  One thing good news about him now is permanent employment status in his Beijing company. We are also so happy for him. The last time i saw them was in Spring Festival 2005. Hmm that was five years ago.

Frank and I greeted each other valentine greetings through email because China blocked Facebook. They are blocked in most network sites. Good thing there is still yahoo. :)

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails

Blue & Grayish Skies

P1240041

I went with my boss and his wife and some company to Cagayan de Oro last Sunday.  3 of them are delegates to the meeting while the two of us (me and the boss wife) have the time to ourselves to go around.  The other one is the driver.  Some of us didn’t have breakfast so 4 of us went out to find a diner.  We looked for an “eat all you can” buffet and yeah we found one.  We had breakfast at Sunburst (will make another post about this place) and we were all full!  Even though i was full but i was looking forward to go out of the restaurant so that i could sky watch.  So this is one of the shots!

Here’s one taken last Saturday -

It was a gray afternoon with little showers. :)

The Cards Has Arrived their Destination!

Last January 14, i blogged that i dropped 3 cards at the post office and they were traveling to China, Germany, and Australia.

Well, on January 29, i received an email that informed me that the card i mailed for Daniele in Australia arrived in 15 days after traveling 5,018 km!  She sent me this note:

“Hi Arlene
Thanks so much for the postcard! It’s the second one I’ve received so far! The postcard is really different and tells me a little bit about your culture which is always nice. Happy postcrossing!
Danielle”

On February 1, i am informed again that the card i mailed for a girl in Beijing, China arrived its destination in 18 days after traveling 3,606 km!

I know that i should have made this post days back but i was busy browsing for some documents in our library here and also searching for contemporary sofas to be used in the new office space up in the 5th floor. So i was busy. But now am really taking time to make this post so that it won’t be too stale.

The next day, am informed that the card for Germany has arrived after 19 days after traveling 11,097 km!  The note she included said “thank you very much or the beautiful card.”

Now that the cards are received, I am hoping to receive my cards soon from random senders.
