MM – War is Over {John Lennon}

This is my first entry to Music Monday hosted by Lady Java I discovered this nice Monday meme last week when i was EC droping. Actually i found it at Mariuca’s blog so i dropped a comment at Lady Java’s blog last week that am going to join this week. Though am a day late but it’s never too late yet. Right? hehehehe

I am chosing this song because it’s related to our peace and safety here at my part of the globe. The war, the bomb threat is not yet over but it is my wish that somehow soon, the war will be over. Though the Christmas is over but i think this song is still appropriate for the holiday season.

Lyrics:

So this is Christmas
And what have you done
Another year over
And a new one just begun
And so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young

A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let’s hope it’s a good one
Without any fear
And so this is Christmas
For weak and for strong
For rich and the poor ones
The world is so wrong

And so happy Christmas
For black and for white
For yellow and red ones
Let’s stop all the fight
A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let’s hope it’s a good one
Without any fear

And so this is Christmas
And what have we done
Another year over
And a new one just begun
And so happy Christmas
We hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young
A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let’s hope it’s a good one
Without any fear
War is over
If you want it
War is over
Now…

Mitch Asks…December Questions

Omg! i realized i missed the whole month of december and 2 questions of november. It was not intentionally i guess. hahahaa. it’s jsut at times am caught up with things…so let me do the answering now. 🙂 Pasensya ka na, Mitch if pakyawan na ito for this month ha! hehehehe

DECEMBER 6 > Missed – i missed the snow! I missed the winter season and i really dunno when will i get over this when i left a wintry Christmas 3 years ago already.

DECEMBER 13 > What do you give your Godchildren, money or gifts? If i am a Ninang, i would give gifts. No matter how simple or cheap your gift is as long as it is a toy, the happiness you can see in a child’s face is enough to let you know that he or she is happy and no need for her or him to say thanks to you.

DECEMBER 20 > What tops on your Christmas wishlist? Do you think you’d get it? A camera. I am having high hopes but i really dunno.

DECEMBER 27 > Aside from Christmas Day, is there any other occasion to celebrate on this month? Yeah, the new year eve on the 31st of this month.

Post Christmas Day Shopping!

I thought shopping is over for many people but na i was mistaken. Yesterday, after the immunization appointment of my friend’s kiddo we went to SM Cagayan de Oro Citya nd ohhh my the place was filled with people. I saw several friendly faces – some from there and some from Iligan City. Hmmm from my place. I really wish that one day, Iligan City people will patronize Iligan products and sales for the city’s income. Sad to realize that that is not the case. Because of the unsettled peace and safety in this place, Iliganons are more comfortable in roaming around the malls and shops of Cagayan de Oro than there.

It was a partly shopping and partly window shopping for me. The first thing i did was visit the camera world to check if they have available Olympus service. They told me that there is non in Cagayan de Oro. If i need one, it’s only available in Manila. OH well…transaction is over. The next thing i did was scout for a perfect wedding gift – a not expensive one but a good one that can be used after the wedding. I did not have a hard time picking one because i love buying wedding gifts. heheehe. I carreid two kiddos with me, my daughter and her cousin and for the first time in a big mall, i left them alone to themselves while i roam around. I just agreed with them to meet in a certain place. Hmm i realized my daughter is not little anymore. I kind of feel a sense of fulfillment but at the same time still wishing that my lil girl will always be a lil girl.

A wish came true for me — i was able to buy a scrabble game board! I’ve been wishing that game for years and now i have it in my own home. I hope my girls plays that more than the computer game. Dimple bought a lil toy for herself (it’s sth pink) that cost 50 pesos on sale. And she was happy.

We left Cagayan very late already and arrived here in Iligan at around ten pm. Had late dinner so i went to bed around midnight already.
I hope everyone had a happy Christmas day!

Update on the Peace & Order in Iligan City

In relation to the post i made last Thursday regarding the peace and order of this little town, there were only 2 deaths during that blast but there were more than a couple of victims that are confined in the ICU of Mindanao Sanitarium and Hospital. And more than 40 had minor wounds. As of today – Sunday, more bombs were found within the city premises, luckily were found before they can destroy. There are more armies/soldiers stationed in shopping places and also in churches as the threat is still going on until after Christmas.

Today i was out in the city and this city used to be a buzzling one during Sundays but today, it was sleepy. There were still many public transportation in route but there were few people going around. Muslim brothers and sisters from distant places are not in the city. Concerned muslim brothers and sisters sent text advisories to their Christian friends that we should not be going around the city from today until after Christmas because there are still more bombings that will happen. Churches are still one of their targets. Buses too, so they urged us not to travel by bus especially in the early mornings.

The bombing happened Thursday afternoon and so Friday i was not able to go to the city. I was scared. But today i need to and i only bought food at Gaisano new mall. While inside the power was off for a minute or two and when it happened i was so scared to death. hahahaaha. I was waiting for the people to panick but they did not. I pushed my cart hurriedly to the counter to pay and hurried out. The power went off twice and i really dunno what was that for – was it an error or a warning and i really don’t care. I just want to be out of the building.
If you read this post, i would like to ask a favor from you – please include us in your prayers. Please pray that we will have a peaceful Christmas in this part of the country.
May peace and love resides in your home where ever you are today.

Peace pls Reign Here

A call to our Registrar interrupted our chikahan. It was her husband in the midst of bombing in the city. He was out to buy meds but ended up trying to find a way to escape the chaos. A bomb blasted two shopping centers.

After awhile, i thought of this song —

Peace should begin in each people’s heart first before a community be at peace.
