If you are a Filipino blogger and blogging from the Philippines for sure you are familiar with
EON. Many have many fortunate stories about their EON experiences and maybe am one of the few who have unfortunates. I thought of not telling this story here in my blog but now I feel it’s too much because I have experienced it again.
I’ve been monetizing this blog since November of last year and it took me many months to have my Paypal activated because I don’t have any card account to register. It was EON who answered me for that need. I was jumping happy when after several weeks I got hold of my card. And after many weeks more, I made my first withdrawal – the fruit of several months of paid posts.
Per image above i made my first transaction on May 12 and after many days when i checked my account. Then on May 21 i made another transaction but on June 3, I received this in my email:
After that failure of transaction with a printed copy of that email, i went to the bank and they told me it’s probably paypal thing. I was upset because i saw that they deducted a big amount. My complain was not solved. Then later they told me the system was down so I have to wait. Thinking it was already ok, I made another transaction on June 18.

I meticulously checked the details on my paypal transaction. Checked on my address, the card number, the bank account number and everything else. I have high hopes that it’s going to be ok but on June 30 I got the same email like the above with more than 10 dollars transaction? I really cried that day. The bank here told me that the main branch called them the system is down. But i was wondering because in Davao it was ok.
So on July 6, i made my first use of Xoom. Mind you, the service fee is a bit high compared to EON but the money can get hold of the money 30 minutes later or not more than an hour later. If you need your cash right away, Xoom is a good option in transferrnig money using a paypal account.
One thing nice about EON is that when you withdraw more than seven thousand pesos, there is no service fee. But if it’s less than that amount, you will be charge 50 pesos. I think it is very minimal and so am hoping that after one more try, I will get another transaction successful.
Before August 22, got a gift for a piece of cake. I said to myself, why not try again. Again i checked all details and then made the transaction. After more than 7 days as the normal bank transaction, I received the same email and looked at the amount, how much did they deduct? Of the 25 dollars sent they only returned 16 dollars? Hmm that is really too much! grrrr
I really dunno where lies the problem here. But i vowed not to try again. But who knows more than a month later, will try to transact another ten dollars, let me see how much they will return. Anyway, will do that when i have lots of money to waste. As with these 3 transactions i wasted more than 30 US dollars. That’s not a wee amount. A dollar matters to me even the cents. Really! I feel i have wasted those amount in futile transaction. I can’t believe that it’s paypal is the wrong side here. I am very positive it’s with EON. I dunno if I am the only one experiencing this. But somehow, I will really know which part of the banking transaction did i made a mistake. Surely my name is spelled right. The shipping address is right and everything.
Anyway, how i wish this is the last. Will not do it again with EON. I will check if i can use my BDO DC if it will be of the same minimal charge then i will switch to BDO.
Whatever, i still thank EON being the instrument for me to verified my paypal account.
I was really happy in May transaction though it took me more than a month to do it. But now, I am really not happy with it.
