Last night, i picked up my earnings and the first thing i set aside was the amount for tithes. 10% of your income (whatever income you had). So the bigger your income gets, the bigger the 10% becomes. But if ever you do that and say it’s for the Lord – then put away the money and really really forget about it. Don’t try to think how big it is because you will have the tendence to get back at it and use it.
Well, there is the saying, the more you give the more you receive. That\s the same thing with the Lord. We can just imagine how much blessed we are so He deserves very much deserves our love through actions – in tithes and offerings.
I come across this article in a humor book and thought of sharing it with you all –
“I want to tithe,” a man told his pastor. “I want to give 10 percent of my income to my church. When my income was $50 week, I gave $5 to the church every Sunday. When I was successful in business and my weekly income rose to $500 a week, i gave $50 to my church every Sunday. But now my income has gone to $5,000 a week, and I just can’t bring myself to give $500 to the church every week.”
The pastor said, “Why don’t we pray over this?” The pastor began to
pray, “Dear God, please make this man’s weekly income $500 so that he can
tithe…”
I really wonder what did the man say after this prayer. heheeh
