Actually this pictures is of last year when I had a friend came over with a dgcamera. But this tree is the same tree now and it has the same decorations although the balls is more of now compared to this. I cannot post a good picture of my current tree because my webcam does not produce a good one. So I hope this works.

Saving The Best for the Visitors??

While I was growing up, it is common for me to witness households who save the best for the visitors. I think it is one of the old cultures of traditional Filipinos. I don’t know if it happens in other Asian countries. I know Filipinos are known to be one of the most if not the most hospitable people in the world. In spite having none, it is still a joy to serve visitors. I witness some friends having no money for a kilo of rice to serve the family, and yet, they go out to the little store to pick some softdrinks and pack of bread “to be paid later in the month or next month” just so they can serve their visitors. It is a touching act but really, personally, I don’t like to tolerate this.

Now that am grown-up I want to break this tradition of saving the best for the visitors while the immediate member of the family used the ordinary stuff or eat the non-special stuff. I don’t mean to serve the vice versa but my point is — I want to treat my family and visitors alike. I don’t like to save the best plates only for the visitors. I don’t like to reserve the best food, the new blankets, the new pillows, even the best curtains — only for the visitors. I also want to use the best for my family even on no-occassion situations.

Here in the Philippines, when you go out to visit friends, they usually serve your with cold juice, soda, or anything sweet. But hey, there are some countries in Asia, they serve you with hot water. Which I think === is great! It’s a healthier choice the sweet drinks and nothing to spend.

When I go out to visit friends and I know they will have a hard time to serve me something on the visit, I always make it a point that I carry something for them so that they won’t have to worry on what to serve me. And if they serve me with what I carry, I don’t eat alone — I want to eat with everyone in the house. It is more fun!

…that I failed to post an entry yesterday? The connection was horribly slow and it took the patience out of me. I cannot open two or three sites at the same time coz it gets me disconnected and took time to come back.

…that I was on holiday yesterday and I was at home whole day and online almost 5 hours but just managed to respond to each comment but failed to post an entry.
…that I missed to grab an opportunity. I got 1 on Monday but was so busy and told myself I will do it the next day (Tuesday) which was yesterday because I will be on holiday. But when I checked it out yesterday morning, the opportunity was gone. Lesson learned: when you get one, do it as soon as possible, within the day.
…that I managed to write (email) to Liza regarding paypal stuff because I was getting weary I thought I can’t accept my blog payments coz i don’t have a credit card. Thanks to Liza for making me undersand that I still can have it even though the card can be done later. Thanks, Liz.
…that I feel bad when I cannot blog hop. Reasons? Aside from being busy at work, I got 2. One is, at work, my work pc does not have internet connection. The pc that has connection is the one at my boss office. so I just sneaked into her office when she is out or luckily at lunch time when she is out because if she is in, she has naptime and I can’t go into her office. #2 reason, when am home, am home always at night and get connected, but due to slow connection, to open up a blog page takes 5 minutes the most.
…that my internet connection speed at home is 42kpbs. So I hope you won’t think am lazy to blog hop. I love blog hopping and I really appreciate you guys, who regularly drop a hi to make me smile everyday. When I can bloghop, it means am at the office or am at the internet cafe. :D
…that today is holiday too but yet I am in the office. We (nursing deparmtment) had our christmas program at 10 AM earlier and I was so busy following up food orders. haii I missed to have an “early bird” gift because I went out to pick the food that was ordered and I waited for an hour at the restaurnat before it was done. :(
…that I am so full now and am so sleepy but yet I know I need to make this entry.
…that it is the school’s christmas party tonight at 6 pm and I have to pick another order (fish fillet & 4 seasons vegetables dish) at 4 pm.
…that am hoping to make another entry tonight from home. Will do the Christmas tree tag from Shern’s Mom.

      I have 1 tag pending and I feel this new blog of mine has been nourished by tags lately which am so thank coz for one I am a blogger. Hehehehe.       Do you want to know why i love Blogvertise? It is because I just applied yesterday and today I checked my email and one of the mails there is from Blogvertise witht he approval and right away there is 1 opportunity to blog about with pay. I just can’t just believe that in less than 24 hours I can start the ball rolling for them. I guess this is the reason why many of my problogging friends recommend me to register with Blogvertise, too aside from other companies. As gathered from friends, they pay you well. :)

      Detouring

      My daughter is an active one. When we walk out together, she is always on the run. If a reprimand her, she tends to walk ahead. If i walk fast, she’s faster. Two hours back, on our way to their christmas party, she walked ahead of me and for some 5 minutes she was nowhere to be found. I was angry. I could feel hot smoke coming out of my ears. I am sure I have shouted her name if I was in a quiet or remote place, but am not — I was in the middle of the school. When she came near me, I really can’t help but grabbed her to the side and pinchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh her hard on her sides. I guess she saw burning coals in my eyes when I grabbed her because she did not flinch a bit inspite of the pain I gave her. i was so mad. I didn’t understand where she went and for what she did. She likes detouring. And with this, if i don’t have to curve this now, I am sure she will be having a hard time in school activities in the future.
