Porridge

According to wikipedia, porridge is is a simple dish made by boiling oats (normally crushed oats, occasionally oatmeal) or another cereal in water, milk, or both. Oat and semolina porridge are the most popular varieties in many countries. Some other cereals used for porridge include rice, wheat, barley, and cornmeal. Legumes such as peasemeal can also be used to make porridge.

The picture of porride above is made up of water, left over rice, and some milk. It looks yummy. It’s one of my daughter’s favorite meal in the evening.

I love porridge, too, but not with milk or sugar but a little bit salt jus to have a taste. I vomit when I eat porride that is sweet except for the chocolate porridge (champorado).

But porridge, morning, noon, and evening, and snacks – I think it will make me sick eating it everyday, but surely it will make me lose unwanted fats. LOL!

Breaking Up Is Hard to Do…

Because you think you are the best couple in the world.

Because he is the campus crush.

Because you hate the girl he is flirting at the moment.

Because he is the only one who has brought you to places your other guys never ever brought you.

Because he writes a love letter so nicely that you can be on cloud nine after reading it.

Breaking Up is Hard to do…

Even if you don’t like or love the guy anymore and you don’t really wanna hurt him.

Even if you knew that the time is wrong.

Even if he is the most unlovable person on earth (because he is still human and deserve to be loved)

Even if does not bring you flowers.

Really, breaking up is hard to because……………….

I still love him.

He still loves her.

She still loves him.

Clock of Lies

Got this from a friend and it’s been awhile on my inbox. This morning my girl, browsed my inbox and she saw that and really said — mom, this is really funny. So I replied to her, what are you? are you clock or a fan? – and we end up laughing and teasing each other.

A man died and went straight to heaven.
He noticed many clocks hangin around so he asked St Peter,
What are those clocks for?
The saint replied, “Those are clocks of Lies.
When a person lies, the hands of his clock moves.
Look at this one, this is Mother Theresa’s clock.
It never moved, it means she never did tell any
lie.
This one is Abraham Lincoln, it only moved twice.
“Remarkable”, the man said.
“But where is Gloria Arroyo’s clock?”
St Peter said, “it’s in Jesus’s office, he’s using it as a celing fan!”

What’s In Your Lunch Box?

These past days, at the end of the day I end up getting worried on what will the kids eat for lunch the next day. I mean eat rice with – a viand. My family is like a goat. We are vegetable eaters. I grew up eating vegetables, but kids nowadays have less love for vegetables :( that is why I always worry what to cook the next day for the lunchbox. I am talking here of kids because my mom is not preparing food only for my girl but for 3 other kids as well (my bro’s kids) as they all go to the same school.

Now, these kids never carry vegetable recipes to school. My girl does not have any problems with whatever recipes as long as it is not vegetables or if it is — at least it is a recipe cooked with eggs or some meat or fish. But the other kids, ohhh my I have a headache because they never carry to school anything that has vege. So mostly paired with their freshly cooked rice is a variation of fried fish (cut of full small sized fish), scrambled egg, fried egg, chicken sausage, eggplant omelette, baby fish omelette. That’s all! They never carry vegetables.

Compared to my time, me and my siblings only have fried eggs or fish once in a blue moon but almost daily, we have plain boiled malunggay, camote tops salad, stir fried camote tops, or anything stir fried composed of vegetables. The worst thing with the boiled malunggay is that I (as the eldest) have to carry that measuring pitcher as the container and when walking it sometimes tip to either left or right and dripped the sabaw (water). LOL! One of my classmates even commented, do you really eat that? Another said, why do you always have to eat vegetable like that, does it taste nice? Can I taste? (she tasted the sabaw) :D

If i have to think of it now, I guess they are really lucky because I think they have nice (what most kids today think is nice) food. But you know, I guess we had more healthier foods than they do.

Parenting

In raising kids everyone has its own opinions. Let them cry, don’t let them cry. Let them watch tv, don’t let them watch tv. Spank them. Don’t spank them. But there is one thing that everyone agrees on, its that sooner or later you have to trust them and hope that you have raise them right.

A Full Day

As much as possible, I don’t like to think that to blog is an additional “to do” in the “what to do today list” especially in a full day. I want to consider blogging as taking time to talk with someone or with a friend who I can really talk out anything under the sun.

A normal day to me is getting up at 6:45 breakfast at 7 to 7:30 and be at the office at 8 until 12 and lunch break at 12 to 1 then work again from 1 to 5:30 in the afternoon. Dinner at 7 or 7:30 and do anything that I like (watch movie, browse the net, blog, chat) until I fall asleep at 12 or 12:30. There are even times my head touches the pillow to sleep at 1:30 am in the morning for the reason I just can’t sleep. Insomniac? Maybe. And i hate it coz I have to drag myself out of bed every morning.

A busy day is when I missed lunchbreak and get to go home at 10 pm and my girl is already fast aleep. My relaxation time or time for myself was used at work and my time to blog was sort of in a hurry, not in a relax mood. — not really nice. Although I have the “what to do list” I still can’t find time to relax when the work at the office is at peak.
One day last week around 7:30 pm, I called up home to check on Dimple and she asked me what time are you coming home. I said 9:30 and she complained why I always go home late. I just told her, it’s work. :D
